CPCCLDG3001 Licence to perform dogging
The dogger runs the lift: selecting and inspecting the lifting gear, slinging the load, and directing the crane operator — including when the load travels out of the operator's view. This course takes your crew from first principles to the licence assessment, on your site and your plant.
WHAT'S COVERED
- Selecting and inspecting slings, chains, shackles and lifting gear for the load
- Slinging techniques for different load types and lifting points
- Directing crane movements by hand signals, whistle and two-way radio
- Judging loads where the weight and centre of gravity aren't marked

WHO IT'S FOR
Construction, civil and yard crews who sling loads and direct cranes — and anyone whose site work is blocked because there's no licensed dogger on the crew.
BEFORE DAY ONE
- A Unique Student Identifier (USI) — free, and we'll help anyone who doesn't have one
- Learners must be at least 18 to sit the licence assessment
- A Service NSW account and Assessment Enrolment Number (AEN) — we walk every learner through this before the course
- On assessment day: the same photo ID used for the Service NSW account
- Training and assessment are conducted in English

Every booked learner gets digital practice access — 3D equipment and interactive activities in the browser, before the first face-to-face day.
Train on your gear
Theory and hands-on practical at your workplace, on the plant your crew actually uses.
Assess & certify
Licence assessment with knowledge, calculation and practical components on real full-scale plant — conducted by our own SafeWork NSW accredited assessor. Then the Statement of Attainment is issued by the RTO and the licence is applied for through Service NSW.

Do you really come to us?
Yes — we deliver at workplaces across NSW and the ACT, provided your site and plant meet the unit's assessment conditions. That's the first thing we confirm when we scope the job.
What does it cost?
Every job is quoted as a fixed, all-inclusive price for your crew — no per-head surprises. Once you count travel time and lost days sending workers off-site, on-site delivery usually wins.
How long does it take?
It depends on crew size and how much experience they bring. We scope the schedule with you and lock it in your quote — including split delivery around your production hours where needed.
What paperwork do learners need for the licence?
A USI, a Service NSW account and an Assessment Enrolment Number (AEN), and the same photo ID at assessment that was used for the account. We walk every learner through the set-up before day one so nobody gets turned away.
What happens after a successful assessment?
The Statement of Attainment is issued by Halo Nation Training Pty Ltd (RTO 32485), and we help each learner lodge their licence application through Service NSW.
Is the 3D practice platform part of the assessment?
No. It's a free practice and familiarisation bonus for booked learners — assessment happens on real plant. Access is per-learner, runs for the course enrolment period, and the content stays High Risk Interactive's intellectual property.
What if someone isn't ready?
Nobody gets pushed through. If a learner needs more time, we arrange further training and reassessment options with the RTO — competency is the standard, not the calendar.
Can we bundle other units into the same visit?
Yes — most clients do. Mixing licence courses, VOCs and refreshers into one mobilisation is usually the cheapest way to run it. Tell us everything you need in the enquiry.
